Treasures for Eternity

Seek those things which are above,

Treasures for eternity, sewn by God’s love.

Treasures that never will rust or decay,

Treasures that no one can ever take away.

Treasures of earth only last for a season,

But what are they worth, if not done to please Him?

Treasures of reputation, senses and sight,

What will they be worth in eternity’s light? Ye Are Dead and Your Life is Hid in Christ1Resized

“If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.” Colossians 3:1

“For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.” Colossians 3:3

“Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:” Philippians 2:5

“The things that are of earth belong to sight, reason and our senses. The things that are in heaven belong to faith, trust and confidence in God. Over on the left-hand side, we put pleasures of the earth, and over on the right-hand side, we put delight in the Lord. On the left we put treasures of earth; on the right we put treasures “where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal” (Matt. 6:20). On the left, we put reputation among men and our desire to stand well with men; on the right we put our desire to stand high with God. Over on the left we put a rich dwelling place; over on the right we put a mansion above. On the left, we put desire to walk with the best company here below; on the right we put a desire to walk with God here below. On the left, we put following man’s philosophy, and on the right, following God’s revelations. On the left, cultivating the flesh; on the right, living for the Spirit. On the left, to live for a time; on the right, to live for eternity. ” AW Tozer
