Where will your soul be 1000 years from now?
Have you considered eternity? Do you know where you will go when you die? When you hear that someone has died, or when you see a hurst leading a funeral procession down the street, do you think to yourself, “Well it’s over for that person”, or “That person is no longer alive?” These thoughts are the furthest from the truth. Although that person’s body is no longer functioning, their soul is still quite alive and functioning in a place called heaven or hell! So when your heart stops beating, and you take your last breath, this is not the end, but just the beginning.
The bible says in Hebrews 9:27 “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgement.”
Your last breath here will immediately bring you into the presence of a holy God and you will be judged. So how do you think you will do? Do you consider yourself to be a good person? Lets look at your entire life along with the Ten Commandments, found in Gods word, the Bible.
Have you ever told a lie? How many in your lifetime? Ever Stolen anything? Even a pen or pencil? Used the Lord’s name in vain? Always obeyed your parents? Ever look at someone with lust? These are just a few of the Ten Commandments, God’s moral law. (Exodus 20) The bible says that if we break one of Gods laws we are guilty of them all. (James 2:10) This is called sin. (1 John 3:4) The bible says that every person has sinned in their life. (Romans 3:23) The bible also says that the wages (payment) for sin is DEATH; but the gift of God is ETERNAL LIFE in Jesus Christ our Lord. (Ezekiel 18:20-23, Romans 6:23, James 1:13-15) The death that is spoken about in these verses is the death of the soul, the lake which burns with fire. (Revelation 21:8)
How do we escape this fire? The problem is sin and all have sinned! Therefore you must be cleansed of your sin, and there is no remission of sins without the shedding of blood! (Leviticus 17:11, Hebrews 9:22)
The good news is that Jesus Christ the Son of God was born of a virgin. (Isaiah 7:14) Now all this was done that it might be fulfilled. (Matthew 1:21-23) He lived a sinless life, (Hebrews 4:15) He suffered, died, was buried, and rose from death on the third day. He was brutally beaten, and shed His precious blood for the remission of sins. (1 Peter 3:18, Mark 10:33-34, Matthew 20:18-19, Ephesians 1:7, 1 Peter 1:18-19) All this was done because of His great love for you so that you would be able to make the most important decision of your life literally!
To repent and believe the gospel! (Mark 1:15, 2 Corinthians 7:10, Acts 3:19, Luke 24:47, Romans 10:9-10, 13, Ephesians 2:8-10 – Romans 3:25) Repent means a change of mind about your sins, which results in abhorring or hating your sins, which results in turning from them, and to believe the gospel which is the death burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins. That by putting your faith & trust in the cleansing power of Jesus Christ and His shed blood to cleanse you of your sins and to set you free from the bondage of sin and to become born again. Verily, verily I say unto thee except a man be born again he cannot see the Kingdom of God. John 3:3 Romans 6:6-7, 18,22, John 8:34-36. There is a decision to make (Romans 6:16, John 3:18, 36.
